On the morning of August 31, our campus welcomed its first new faces of the year. Accompanied by their families and carrying suitcases full of expectations, new students officially embarked on their KCS journey. At the registration area, students received their wristbands, completed facial recognition, collected uniforms and welcome kits, and sought advice at the course consultation desk. Step by step, they began their transformation from newcomers to proud members of our community.
In the afternoon, all students returned to campus for a warm welcome ceremony in the theater. The Head of School highlighted the importance of community and shared this year’s theme: Together we strive, together we thrive. Tim emphasized the school’s core values—Responsibility, Respect, Care, and Collaboration—as well as three priorities for the year: Academics, Student Well-being, and School Management. With the united effort of teachers, parents, and students, he expressed confidence in a year of growth and achievement. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, followed by greetings from the leadership team and teachers.After the ceremony, students returned to their classrooms for lively homeroom sessions, while parents attended meetings tailored for each division.
In Secondary, Principal Huang introduced new academic standards, policies, and innovations such as differentiated instruction and AI-assisted learning. She stressed the balance between standardization and personalization, ensuring every student receives the support they need. In Primary, teachers shared curriculum updates in reading, math, and inquiry learning, while also emphasizing character education and individual care. Parents left with renewed confidence in the school’s vision for their children’s development.
To close the day, students celebrated with the most anticipated activity—a water fight on the playground! Laughter, cheers, and water splashes filled the summer air. No one stayed dry, but everyone carried home memories of joy and togetherness, marking the perfect end to Day One.
From morning suitcases to theater applause, from attentive parents to playful water splashes, the first day was filled with energy and warmth. New students brought fresh vitality, parents offered strong support, and teachers guided every step of the way.
With Together as One as our theme, we look forward to a year where responsibility, respect, care, and collaboration become part of daily life, and where academics and well-being go hand in hand.
