Last Friday afternoon, the KCS hall was especially lively. A special House Debate officially kicked off, with a bold and spirited topic: “Who is the best House at KCS?”
But this wasn’t your typical “praise your own House” kind of competition. The debate came with two fun rules:
You couldn’t defend your own House;
Only 5 minutes of prep time, and a 2-minute speech.
Representatives from all six Houses stepped onto the stage, crafting their speeches on the spot and speaking up for a House that wasn’t their own. Logic, humor, and creativity were all on full display. Some cleverly highlighted the spirit of another House, while others playfully reversed their stance to make their arguments stand out. Many drew rounds of applause and laughter from the audience.
After the first round, Kingsley and Major stood out and advanced to the final. In round two, the two finalists went head-to-head, exchanging powerful arguments and punchlines within just two minutes.In the end, after careful consideration and scoring from the teacher judges, Kingsley House was crowned the champion of this debate!
Congratulations to Kingsley! And a big round of applause for every student who took the stage!In this challenge of both intellect and eloquence, our students not only showcased the power of language but also demonstrated mutual respect, clear thinking, and strong House spirit.
This wasn’t just a clash of ideas—it was a joyful collision of teamwork, wit, and reverse logic. We saw our KCS students shine with confidence on stage—Balancing reason and creativity, they always find a way to express themselves.What kind of surprises will the next House event bring? We can’t wait to find out!
