KCS Voice Season 2 Finale|We Sang Our Own Song

May at KCS was filled with rhythm and melody as KCS Voice returned for its second season! This student-led singing competition, inspired by the global hit show The Voice, gave students a stage to shine, express themselves, and celebrate their love of music.

01 Auditions:  90 Seconds to Impress

The journey began with 25 sign-ups and 14 brave students stepping into the spotlight for auditions. No background music, no backup—just 90 seconds of a cappella singing to show what they’ve got.
Our panel of music teachers evaluated each performance based on pitch, tone, rhythm, and stage presence. After some tough decisions, 8 talented contestants advanced to the semi-finals.

02 Semi-Finals

On the 9th , the KCS auditorium transformed into a scene straight out of The Voice. Four judges—Aris Kampanos, Sharon Lambayong, Alastair Gold, and Vice Principal Zoe—sat with their backs to the stage, listening closely and only turning around if the voice moved them.
Jeni Gu (Grade 9) wowed all four judges with her powerful vocals and received a full turn. Avia (Grade 10) brought smooth jazz vibes to the stage, creating an atmosphere so relaxing that even the audience swayed along to the beat. But perhaps the most touching moment came when one contestant stumbled slightly due to nerves—and was met with a wave of applause and support from the audience. She gathered herself, finished strong, and won everyone’s hearts. As Aris put it, “It’s not just about talent—it’s about courage, empathy, and the spirit of music.”
03 The Finals

Last Friday’s grand finale featured the top 4 contestants, judged by a combination of expert scoring and live audience votes. The stakes were high, but the energy was higher! Each performer gave it their all, proving that this wasn’t just a school competition—it was a celebration of identity, growth, and confidence.

“This stage gave me a rare chance to show who I am,” one finalist said. “And the feedback from the judges? Absolutely priceless.”Aris, Head of Music, added: “These performances exceeded all expectations. KCS Voice has truly become a signature event for our school.”

04The Voice Lives On

As the curtain falls on Season 2, the voices, the applause, and the memories linger. More than just a competition, KCS Voice is a space where students grow, connect, and find the courage to share their passion.

We can’t wait to hear what’s next.

Because at KCS, the music never stops.
