Succession and Transformation: A Quarter of a Century in the Chengdu International Education Industry, She is Here to Write a New Chapter

It’s just the beginning of summer and a familiar figure has appeared on the campus of Dipont KCS Chengdu – Lily Dai, who has been working in the international education industry in Chengdu for 24 years including overseas application, international high school programmes and K-12 international schools, has officially become the Bursar of Dipont KCS Chengdu.

Ms. Dai’s new position has attracted a lot of attention from parents and education professionals in Chengdu, both in recognition of her 24-year career and in anticipation of her arrival at Dipont KCS Chengdu.

Chengdu started its journey on international education 24 years ago when most families chose to study abroad. Ms. Dai came to Dipont Education at this point and entered the Chengdu international education industry since. After China’s accession to the WTO, the international high school curriculum also came into the China education industry, and Dipont Education Group has developed into a professional organisation offering A-Level, IB and AP programmes to nearly 30 high schools in 14 cities across China and has been a pioneer in this field for over 20 years. As the project leader for the southwest region of Dipont Education Group, Principal Lily Dai has followed the pace of the international education exploration of Dipont and has drawn a colorful chapter in her career.

Five years ago, Dipont Education officially started the organisation and management of K-12 international schools, establishing four highly international K-12 private schools and two schools for children of expatriates in the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu, of which Dipont KCS Chengdu is the youngest member of this family. The school is now welcoming back a long-time colleague – Principal Lily Dai.

Having been born in Chengdu and studied in the UK in her early years, Ms. Dai understands the educational concerns of parents in Chengdu, and her long experience in international education has granted her a broad perspective and abundant experience; having spent the majority of her career at Dipont, she has a deep understanding of the top-level design for the school made by the Head Quarter, and is able to leverage and integrate resources both in and outside Dipont to provide a timely and precise implementation of the school’s vision. Besides, she is also a leader with distinctive characters, strong cross-cultural collaboration skills, and proficiency in the English language and communication, making her well-fit in the school management team and teaching team made up of Chinese and expatriate educators. More importantly, she has the passion and love for education and students, which marks her as a warm and loving educator.

We are looking forward to having Ms. Dai join the management team of Dipont KCS Chengdu, which is made up of outstanding educators from China and abroad, to bring high quality management and services to the school, and to work and grow with the school, making Dipont KCS Chengdu a new benchmark of international education in the southwest of China.
