缘——遇见狄邦肯思

2022年的秋天，我踏进了狄邦肯思的校园。于我而言，来到新学校是一个新的开始，许许多多的新面孔，一些老熟人，赏心悦目的建筑，还有一位位和蔼可亲的老师们，无一不让我感到向往，憧憬。这里将会是我留学生活扬帆起航的起点。
来到这里，我首先感受到的是丰富有趣的课堂生活：老师们和学生们谈笑风生，不论线上线下尽力帮助学生答疑解惑。学业之外的ECA课程更是丰富多彩，足足几十种各具特色的研究课程选的我眼花缭乱。
除学习之外，生活方面也令我眼前一亮。宿舍干净整洁，两人间，四人间任君选择，宿管老师比起长辈，更像是大我几岁的哥哥。肯思更是在用心照顾着学生们的胃，每日早、中、晚菜品琳琅满目，东方到西方不一而足，我甚至认不齐所有菜品。
来到这里小半个学期，我已经完全融入了新的生活，我对于大千世界的认知更是又上了一层楼。来到这里，也许是我做过的最正确的选择，狄邦肯斯将会助我长出一对翅膀，实现自己的梦想。
In the fall of 2022, I walked into the campus of Dipont KCS Chengdu. For me, coming to the new school was a new beginning, with so many new faces, a few old acquaintances, a pleasant building, and an amiable teacher, all of which made me yearn for and look forward to it. This will be the starting point for my study abroad life.
The first thing I felt when I came here was the rich and interesting classroom life: the teachers talked and laughed with the students, and tried their best to help students, answer their questions, both online and offline. Outside of my studies, the ECA courses are even more colorful, I was dazzled by dozens of unique research courses.
In addition to studying, I am also impressed by the boarding life. The dormitory is clean and tidy, with two rooms and four rooms to choose from, and the dormitory teacher is more like my brother a few years older than me. Dipont KCS Chengdu is taking care of the students’ diet with great care, and the dishes are dazzling every morning, lunch and dinner, with various types of western-style dishes and Chinese dishes, I can’t even recognize all the dishes.
After coming here for half a semester, I have fully integrated into my new life, and my understanding of the world has reached a new level. Coming here is perhaps the most correct choice I have ever made, and Dipont KCS Chengdu will help me realize my dreams.

来到狄邦肯思之后，我发现这里的学习环境很好，同学们也非常友善、热情，开学的第一天就有一位同学很热心地问我是否是要帮助。同学们在课余时间也总在讨论学术问题，作为一名新同学，当我尝试加入讨论时，他们也会友善地接纳我们，这种友善的社交环境深深地感染了我。而且，学校的老师非常负责任，在我因病缺课后，老师们专门腾出了私人时间为我补习。在狄邦肯思学习，我感觉自己更有动力了，我认为这得益于学校良好的学习环境。
After I came to Dipont KCS Chengdu, I found the learning environment to be very nice and the students to be very friendly and welcoming. On the first day of school, one of my classmates was eager to ask me if I needed help. Students are always discussing academic issues outside of class time as well, and as a new student, when I tried to join the discussion, they were friendly and accommodating, and this friendly social environment was deeply infectious to me. Also, the teachers at the school were very responsible and dedicated their private time to tutoring me after I missed classes due to illness. I feel more motivated to study at Dipont KCS Chengdu, and I think this is accredited to the good learning environment at the school.
非常开心能有机会学习橄榄球

这里的同学个个都很热情，而且都很好相处，这让我印象极为深刻。在这里，我有机会尝试全新的体育运动项目，例如橄榄球，我一经接触就非常喜欢，同学们也很积极地和我一起练习、帮助我提升技能。我对学校的学习环境也很满意，不论是师资力量还是分层教学都非常符合我们每个人个性化学习的需求。学校的活动也很丰富多彩，前不久举办的升学活动让我能近距离接触到感兴趣的香港大学、华威大学等学校，这对我将来的升学非常有帮助。此外，种类繁多的学院活动，如飞盘、点球大战、保龄球等也让我在繁重的学习下能够适当放松。
I was extremely impressed by how welcoming and accommodating all the students were. I have had the opportunity to try new sports here, such as rugby, which I really enjoyed once I was introduced to it, and my classmates have been very motivated to practice with me and help me improve my skills. I am also very happy with the learning environment, both in terms of the faculty and teaching with differentiation, which is very much tailored to each of our individual learning needs.
The school also has a wide variety of activities. The college counseling event held recently allowed me to get close to schools such as the University of Hong Kong and the University of Warwick that I am interested in, which will be very helpful for my future studies. In addition, the wide variety of house activities, such as Frisbee, penalty shootout, bowling, etc. also allow me to relax properly under the heavy study load.

我来这个学校一个月啦，有许多感受想和大家分享。我很快地融入了狄邦肯思的大家庭，因为有很友好热情的同学和温柔、平易近人的老师。不论课堂内外，老师们都会及时解答我们的疑问，甚至还利用自己的休息时间来帮我们补习，他们还经常说“中午我有空，你们随时来找我“之类的话。老师们也总在通过各种方式鼓励我们勇敢表达自己，帮助我们建立自信心。学校也会听取我们的意⻅及时地给予反馈。在这个学校我最大的感触就是大家都很善良，有很好的学习氛围，每一天都很充实。
I have been in this school for a month and I have many feelings to share with you. I quickly integrated into the big family of KCS in Chengdu, because there are many friendly and enthusiastic classmates and gentle, approachable teachers. In class, if there is a question that we don’t understand, the teacher will help us explain our doubts in time. Even after class, the teacher will be very patient to help us answer the question, and even the teacher will offer to use their break time to help us make up. For example, like my teachers, they will tell me after class: “I am free at noon, you can come and see me anytime!” Moreover, they will inspire us with encouraging languages, such as our English teachers, they don’t care about whether we answer the questions correctly, they want to build our confidence and express our ideas bravely.
The school will also listen to our suggestions and give timely feedback. What impressed me most in this school is that everyone is kind, there is a good learning atmosphere, and every day is very fulfilling.

我是来自狄邦肯思学校6年级的学生Harry。我们学校非常棒，因为这儿的老师和学习环境都非常好。我们的学院活动也非常丰富，学校一共有6个学院，分别是Major大成、Maclear居易、Glenesk梅兰、Alverstone安石、Layton来德、Kingsley金麟，我自己在Layton这个学院。我们餐厅的食物也很美味，我也很喜欢学校的泳池和课外活动课程，我觉得我们学校是全世界最棒的。
I am Harry Yi from G6 in Dipont KCS Chengdu. My school is a wonderful school because the teachers are good and it has a good learning environment. We have a lot of activities in each house. There are six houses in the campus and they are Layton、Alverstone、Kingsley、Major、Maclear and Glenesk. l am in Layton . The food in the school canteen is also very delicious. I also like the swimming pool and ECAs. I feel like it’s the greatest school in the world!
